Adding Sourcery to Your IDE

You can add Sourcery to your IDE for on demand code reviews and more.

To get started follow the instructions below for installing Sourcery in your IDE of choice:

Setting up Sourcery in VS Code

  1. Open the Sourcery extension in VS Code and click the install button

OR

  1. Go to the VS Code Preferences menu and select Extensions
  2. Search for Sourcery and click Install

To log into your Sourcery account, open the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P or Cmd+Shift+P) and run Sourcery: Login.

Alternatively to log in with your Sourcery token, copy the token from your Sourcery dashboard and paste it in the input box in the Sourcery section of the VS Code settings.

Setting up Sourcery in Cursor

  1. Go to the Cursor Preferences menu and select Extensions
  2. Search for Sourcery and click Install.

To log into your Sourcery account, open the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P or Cmd+Shift+P) and run Sourcery: Login.

Alternatively to log in with your Sourcery token token, copy the token from your Sourcery dashboard and paste it in the input box in the Sourcery section of the Cursor settings.

Setting up Sourcery in JetBrains IDEs

  1. In your JetBrains IDE (IntelliJ, PyCharm, etc), press Ctrl+Alt+S or Cmd+, to open the preferences dialog and select Plugins.

  2. Search for Sourcery in the Marketplace tab and click Install

  3. Click the Restart IDE button

To log into your Sourcery account open the IDE commands (Ctrl+Shift+A or Shift+Cmd+A) and run Sourcery: Login or click the Log in in browser or Log in with token options on the notification that pops up in your IDE.

If you choose to log in through your browser, you'll be taken to a log in page and then you'll be asked to confirm that the code in your browser matches what you're shown in your IDE.

To log in with your token, copy the token from your Sourcery dashboard and paste it in the input box in your IDE extension settings.
